Tidiane Kinda, Mission Chief for Nepal and Deputy Division Chief in the Asia and Pacific Department of the International Monetary Fund, joins the CERDI as a research fellow.
Indeed, he has significant experience at the IMF, where he has held positions since joining in 2009. Previously, he led several teams on the Maldives, Palau, and Singapore ; served as an Assistant to the Director of the Asia and Pacific Department ; and was Senior Desk on Indonesia. He also worked in the African Department and Fiscal Affairs Department covering advanced, emerging, and low-income countries (Euro Area, Canada, Croatia, Peru, Moldova, and Chad). Before joining the IMF, he worked at the World Bank and the Central Bank of West African States.
He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the CERDI, Université Clermont Auvergne and was a Research Fellow at the Columbia Center on Sustainable Investment, Columbia University.
Tidiane Kinda is a macroeconomist with his research focusing on issues including fiscal policy, monetary policy, inequality and private sector development. He has published widely in high-impact journals such as the Journal of Public Economics, the IMF Economic Review, and Word Development. He also co-edited the IMF book "Realizing Indonesia's Economic Potential" (2018).
His expertise on macroeconomic issues and development economics will enrich our research projects. Moreover, his long experience at the IMF will be precious and helpful for our young researchers who want to join international organizations.
