A Research Symposium for the Country Economic Memorandum
The World Bank holds a research symposium on the economy of Burkina Faso from March 7 to 10, 2023. Policymakers, experts, and researchers will spend four days discussing Burkina's economic situation and debating new economic policies at Thomas Sankara University. A selection of the papers will be published in the next Country Economic Memorandum on Burkina Faso.
Three of our researchers will participate actively in the discussion:
March 8: Florent Bresson will attend a session on the Growth story and Growth opportunities. He will discuss the determinants of firms' economic performance. Patrick Plane will also take part in the same session, he will debate the consequences of the reduction of electricity subsidies on the economy.
March 10: Grégoire Rota-Graziosi will contribute to a session on public finance, economic growth and human capital. He will comment on a paper on the policies that could be implemented.
