Idrissa Aladji Aya

Idrissa Aladji AYA has started working as an economist at the UN Office of the Special Adviser on Africa (OSAA). During his internship, he will conduct econometric and data analysis to explore African macroeconomic issues and contribute to policy-relevant insights.

Idrissa is a PhD candidate at Université Clermont Auvergne -CERDI. His dissertation investigates the effects of conflict on economic activity in developing countries. Vianney Dequiedt and Michaël Goujon (CERDI, Université Clermont Auvergne, Ferdi) supervise his research project funded by The Clermont International Development Hub, the PCDI. He holds a double master's degree in Development Economics, including research and project studies at the Ecole d'Economie - CERDI.

Aside from his studies, Idrissa has had different experiences in international organizations. He did a summer internship program at the IMF in the Africa Department, where he worked on a project focusing on the economic impacts of coups d'état. Prior to this experience, Idrissa completed an internship with the African Development Bank Group (AfDB), where he contributed to re-evaluating the hashtag#GDP of African countries, including natural capital, and to the reviewing the Economic Outlook report of Central African countries.
