Idrissa Aladji Aya, PhD candidate CERDI, Universite Clermont Auvergne, is starting an internship at the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group. This institution funds development policy and also offers advice on their implementation.
Idrissa Aladji Aya is integrating the Regional Office in Central Africa/Country Economics Department (RDGC/ECCE, Yaoundé, Cameroon) under the supervision of Hervé Lohoues, Lead Economist. He will gain an overall vision of the bank's activities and develop an in-depth knowledge of the challenges to achieve sustainable economic growth.
African regional institutions recruit CERDI’s graduates for their macroeconomic expertise and strong analytical skills. Previously, Idrissa Aladji Aya got his Master's degree at the School of Economics, UCA.
Idrissa Aladji Aya is a macroeconomist focusing on security and development. His PhD dissertation concentrates on the aftermath of conflict on economic activity. He is finalizing a paper on the repercussions of these devastating events on economic growth in the long run. He also works on the relationship between military expenses and conflict intensity in Sub-Saharan Africa. Vianney Dequiedt and Michaël Goujon (CERDI, Université Clermont Auvergne) supervise his research project.
