Jean-Louis Arcand, formerly affiliated to the CERDI, becomes President of the GDN

Jean-Louis Arcand was recently appointed as President of the Global Development Network, an international organization devoted to supporting high-quality research in the social sciences from developing countries. Arcand is an economist and a Professor at the Geneva Graduate Institute. He was a Professor of Economics at the Université Clermont Auvergne from 1999 to 2008. At that time, Jean-Louis Arcand was also a member of our department. He conducted and directed research on the microeconomics of development.

Our team is happy to welcome Jean-Louis back to Clermont-Ferrand, and to start working again with him and the GDN in the framework of the Clermont International Development Hub (PCDI). The CERDI is one of the partners with the Université Clermont Auvergne, the School of Economics and the Fondation pour les études et recherches sur le développement international (FERDI).

We are grateful to Pierre Jacquet, former President of the GDN, for his valuable contribution to creating the Clermont International Development Hub.

This hub is funded by the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Recovery of the French Government, and overseen by the French Development Agency (AFD).
