Denera Atanguegnima and Ismaël Ouedraogo are Africa fellows at the World Bank
We are delighted to announce that Denera Atanguegnima and Ismaël Ouedraogo were selected for this year's Africa Fellows World Bank program.
This program is reserved for African young scholars. It allows them to join Andrew Dabalen's team, the Africa Region Chief Economist. The successful applicants spend six months working with the team. This year, only twenty-six applicants out of three thousand were selected.
Denera Atanguegnima contributes to a study on the mobilization of domestic resources and brings analytical support to a team conducting a study on twenty-two countries in West and Central Africa. She obtained her PhD in Economics last year. In her thesis, she explored international migrations from a macro and microeconomic perspective, with a special focus on financial inclusion.
Ismaël Ouedraogo works with Woubet Kassa, who oversees trade, value chains, industry, and structural change topics. Ismaël provides technical support to publications focusing on topics related to geopolitical and trade issues. He will defend his PhD next month. In his thesis, he explored international trade, development aid and foreign direct investment under the supervision of Mary-Françoise Renard (CERDI, Université Clermont Auvergne).
The program is an excellent opportunity for them to gain experience in applied research with experienced international experts.
