The CERDI welcomes Jordan Loper this month
We are pleased to announce that Jordan Loper is joining the CERDI and the School of Economics this month. He will serve as an Assistant Professor at the Université Clermont Auvergne.
Jordan obtained his Ph.D. in economics at the Université Aix-Marseille in 2020, and then he held a postdoctoral position at the ENS Lyon. Previously, he was a lecturer at the Toulouse School of Economics and a visiting scholar at Harvard University.
His research interests include development economics, cultural economics, and economic policy. His approach is interdisciplinary, with influences from anthropology and psychology. He uses applied econometrics to measure how cultural contexts influence preferences and behaviors and to assess the impacts of development policies in developing countries (Sub-Saharan Africa and Indonesia).
Recently, Jordan Loper also opened a new research agenda, investigating the effects of social networks on elections and women's emancipation in Sub-Saharan Africa.
All the members of our department are happy to welcome Jordan Loper among them.
