The I4R and CERDI are organizing a hackathon to test the reproducibility of scientific studies.

The CERDI will host the Replication Games on Friday, May 29, 2026, at the Pôle Tertiaire-La Rotonde. This event is co-organized with the Institute for Replication (I4R), which offers around fifty competitions worldwide each year. Its goal are to highlight the importance of reproducibility in research results and to promote integrity practices.

Fourteen teams have registered to reproduce the data and code from articles published in leading scientific journals in economics and psychology. Ten teams will participate in-person in Clermont-Ferrand, while four will join online. The competition will include faculty researchers, PhD students, data engineers, and data scientists.

On May 12, 2026, Abel Brodeur and Lenka Fiala (I4R) hosted an initial online meeting to launch the challenges. Teams are already preparing for the competition: they have selected a paper and begun verifying its computational reproducibility.

The day on May 29 will conclude with a presentation session, during which each team will summarize their verification process and results. The reports will be published afterward.
