Nourat just started a research internship at the International Monetary Fund

The IMF selects about fifty PhD students from the best economics departments to join the institution's research teams every year. This is a great opportunity for doctoral students to conduct research on pressing macroeconomic issues under the supervision of IMF experts.

Our PhD candidate, Nourat Guigma was selected to participate in the program this year. She has joined the African Department where she will explore the social acceptability of tax reforms.

Nourat Guigma is writing a PhD thesis on “Tackling tax base erosion in the era of digitalization and globalization to ensure sustainable development” under the supervision of Grégoire Rota-Graziosi et d'Émilie Caldeira (CERDI, UCA).

She holds a master's in development economics from the Ecole d'Economie, UCA and a Ba in Economics from the Université Saint Thomas d'Aquin. She already has significant experience in the research field, for instance, she has previously worked for several international institutions like the World Bank Group.
