China's aid to Africa: determinants that differ by sector


Studies that have so far focused on the determinants of Chinese aid have considered China's overall aid to Africa. In this article, we adopt a different and new approach in the literature. We show that the disaggregation of aid by sector is necessary, otherwise heterogeneities are hidden, leading to reductive conclusions.
