Terrorism, contagion and financial development in the WAEMU countries

12h00 : Fawzi Banao will present his latest research on the impact of terrorism on bank performance in WAEMU countries. He observes the contagion effect of terrorist violence on banking stability and also the Return on assets (ROA) and the Return on Equity (ROE) from 2010 to 2019. 

Fawzi Banao is a PhD student focusing on the macroeconomic impacts of conflicts on resource mobilization in developing countries. Bertrand Laporte (CERDI, Université Clermont Auvergne) and Pierre Guillaume Meon (Université Libre de Bruxelles) supervise his research.

Henri Sourgou is writing a PhD thesis on the integrated Sustainable Development Goals (iDSG model) and its application in Burkina Faso. The purpose of this research is to determine policies to reduce food insecurity. Arnaud Diemer (CERDI, Université Clermont Auvergne) supervises his work.
