The FERDI and the IRAM are organizing a round table discussion on the cattle industry on October 7, 2025 (9:30 AM – 12:00 PM - French time), during the Livestock Summit. The speakers will address the following question: Can the beef value chain in West Africa do without transhumance?
This meeting is organized by Ferdi's Chair on Agricultural Modernization Policies in Africa and brings together researchers in economics. Catherine Araujo Bonjean, researcher at the CNRS - CERDI and Scientific Advisor to the Chair on Agricultural Modernization Policies in Africa (FERDI), will participate in the discussion. Her presentation will focus on the economic analysis of the spatial distribution of activities that make up the regional beef value chain. .
