A new database

Take a guided tour of the first worldwide database on the economic impacts of volcanic eruptions. This collaborative platform integrates comprehensive and sourced data on the socio-economic impacts of the most significant volcanic eruptions.

This database currently compiles data on the physical characteristics and socio-economic consequences of 55 volcanic eruptions of 42 volcanoes located in 18 countries. For each eruption, the authors have compiled existing information on the human toll, displaced persons, damage and losses in buildings, infrastructure, agriculture, ..., according to 37 qualitative and quantitative variables, by systematically referencing the sources of information.

This project is funded by the research program I-Site Clermont.
