Mariz Abdou and Jules Gazeaud will present their latest research at the CSAE Conference.
Each year, the conference on economic development, organized by the Centre for the Study of African Economies of the University of Oxford, brings together international scholars from all around the world.
This year, two members of our team, Mariz Abdou (UCA, CERDI) and Jules Gazeaud (CNRS, CERDI), will participate in the conference to be held in Oxford from March 22 to 24, 2026:
- Mariz Abdou will present her paper on change policy and Egypt’s participation in Global Value Chains (GVCs): “Shaping Egypt's Sectoral Positioning in Global Value Chains: The Role of Bilateral Real Exchange Rate”.
- Jules Gazeaud will discuss his research on the effects of a research-action program exploring how to boost youth employment in Egypt: “Measuring sensitive outcomes through ballot-bag surveys”. He developed, with his coauthors Bruno Crépon and Ahmed Elsayed, an innovative survey method to elicit reliable responses to highly sensitive questions while preserving respondents’ anonymity. This article is to be published in the American Economic Review: Insights (Early preview).
